Olsen Vineyard, n. a vineyard located in the East end of the Yakima Valley from north of Prosser to north of Benton City
The statistics of the wine are: 10.1% alcohol, 6.7% residual sugar, acidity 7.5 g/l, and pH 3.02. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would call the sweetness 5 or 6. The label reads ‘Inspired by Auslese’ and for fans of German Riesling this is an apt attribution. The nose explodes with floral lemon blossom notes and honey. The palate repeats and adds a little green apple as well. The tightrope and tension between sweetness and acidity is danced beautifully, with a gorgeous midpalate roundness circled by fantastic acidity. Even in 375 format this will age gracefully for years.
